Terms of use

SiteReviews publishes pages about websites and online services, and the reviews visitors write about them. Using the site means you follow the rules on this page. We can update the page; the text that is published here is the one that applies.

The catalog is a place for those notes and for the average score. It is not a shop, a broker, a payment service, or a court between a visitor and a company.

Reviews

A review has to describe your own experience with that website or company. Choose a score from 1 to 5 that matches what you wrote. The name under the review is the name you enter.

Do not post threats, insults aimed at a private person, or private data about someone who is not the company: home addresses, personal phone numbers, identity documents, or account numbers. Do not post advertisements, referral pitches, or links to other sites. Do not pretend to be the company, and do not paste a text you copied from another review site.

One review is one score and one text. The text stays in the language you wrote it in. Publishing the same note over and over, or sending a burst of reviews from the same connection, is not allowed. The form will refuse it.

Scores

The score on a company page is the average of the reviews that are still published, shown to one decimal place. Stars on a single review stay whole numbers. Removing a review takes it out of the average.

A page with no reviews has no score. An empty page is not a judgement. It only means nobody has published a review there yet.

Company pages

A business may claim the page for a domain it controls, by confirming an email on that domain or a tag on the homepage. After that, the company may reply under a review. The reply has to be about that review. It may not add links to other sites, and it does not change the visitor’s score.

The company profile, the public reply, and any widget the company pastes on its own website are the company’s own presentation. The widget shows the public score from this catalog. SiteReviews does not control the page where the company places that snippet.

Moderation

Editors can remove a review that breaks these rules and can switch a company page off. A page that is switched off leaves the catalog. We do not promise to settle a dispute, to contact the company for you, or to check whether a review is true beyond applying these rules.

You are responsible for the review or the reply you publish. SiteReviews is responsible for running the catalog, storing what the product stores, and taking down material that does not belong on it.
